- One trillion is a big number, and that’s the estimated dollar figure assigned to the urban air mobility market. And the societal impact is now thought to be more significant than NASA’s attempt to put men on the moon. What it will actually take to make that happen remains speculative in many ways, and AIN explores the issues facing the industry in this months publication.
- Not unrelated, the special report for June looks at the insurance market for business aviation. “The aviation insurance market is headed into ’controlled flight into terrain,’” according to one industry executive. The past five years have seen airline insurance claims outpace premiums by an average of $400 million annually, compelling reinsurers and underwriters to abandon the market, a recipe for large rate increases to come.
- The good news includes GAMA’s first quarter numbers coming in with indications of a good start to the year. Deliveries and revenues in almost all segments are on an upswing.
