Aircraft lessor LCI has acquired 19 helicopters worth $115 million from Lobo Leasing. LCI was joined in the transaction by Rive Private Investment and Turning Rock Partners. The helicopters are comprised of models from Airbus, Bell, Leonardo, and Sikorsky. Eight of the aircraft are currently placed on lease in South America, with the remainder in Europe and Africa, bringing the total number of countries serviced by LCI to 28.

“This portfolio acquisition is another major step in LCI’s strategic plan and reflects our confidence in the helicopter market,” said CEO Jaspal Jandu. “Our team and partners have performed strongly, and the assets will be seamlessly incorporated onto our leasing platform, driving further efficiencies of scale.”

LCI has made a series of aggressive acquisitions since forming a joint venture with Japan’s Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing in 2020. Since 2004, the Libra Group company has logged more than $8 billion worth of aircraft transactions. In April, LCI signed an agreement to acquire 50 eVTOL aircraft from Beta Technologies, with options for 75 more.
