Inmarsat Demonstrates Sector-spanning Satcom Links

Focusing on airborne connectivity, Inmarsat is demonstrating at the Farnborough International Airshow its latest future-proofed, mission-critical satellite communications solutions, spanning civilian and defense UAV operations, head of state and VIP satcom systems, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) applications. Additionally, Inmarsat Velaris, the company’s commercial UAV connectivity service, announced a new partnership, aimed at raising awareness and acceptance of urban and advanced air mobility.

Executives of the London-based satcom network provider participated in the airshow’s conference program on Tuesday. business development manager Ben Corbett provided details of satellite network advances planned to run to 2040. Todd McDonell, president for global government, hosted a panel discussion on the critical role of satellite communications in ISR. Eva Gonzalez, director of spacecraft infrastructure and advanced payloads, addressed space satcom challenges and ways engineers can approach them.
